We designed the Scribble in direct response to our customers asking for a low-cost alternative to the Ribbon coat rack. Never wanting to disappoint we set out to create a product that was not only more affordable, but which also resolved some of the Ribbon's packaging constraints. We knew the new coat rack should be flat-pack, but it also needed to maintain the same fluidic, dynamic feel of the Ribbon. We played around with a number of different design concepts but finally found inspiration in a scribble mark drawn on a piece of paper. After further research and development we expanded the concept to encompass Japanese calligraphy, renowned for it's beauty and steep cultural heritage (which resonated deeply with us).
Putting all of these elements together we have brought to you the Scribble coat rack. It's simple, yet alluring, form means it is easier and cheaper to manufacture, allowing us to pass the cost savings on to you. In addition, it's flat-pack design means that it is easy to store and ship, which reduces the coat rack’s carbon footprint.
